Great Northern’s Chippewa Falls’ team recently donated printed boxes with the slogan “From Moo to You” for the local FFA’s cheese sale that supported Wisconsin dairy farmers.
In February, the Great Northern Cares team in Twin Cities had a great time making blankets to wrap layette bundles for Wrapped in Love.
Crews from Boldt Construction Company are finishing renovations on another 8 apartments at the Wisconsin Veterans Village. A total of 48 existing apartments for both single veterans and veteran families will be remodeled providing both affordable housing and support.
The Great Northern Cares – Laminations team had the pleasure of working with the Community Benefit Tree during the holiday season. They adopted three Fox Valley, Wisconsin families, providing gift cards, clothing, household goods, toiletries, and toys. One family even received a set of new tires and brakes.
The Great Northern Cares Laminations team in Jacksonville, FL spread some extra joy this season by participating in the Daniel Kids Holiday Drive. The team donated books, clothing, toys, electronics, sports equipment and monetary donations to provide Christmas presents for children and teens who would otherwise go without. The team was able to help 100 children and soon to be adults have a wonderful Christmas!
Our very own chairman of the board and decorated Vietnam veteran, Bill Raaths, was recently featured in a video for a Wisconsin Veterans Village Association campaign, promoting the creation of a first-of-its-kind Veterans Village in Northeast Wisconsin.
With the Fox Cities veteran population being 8.8%, which is higher than the national average, there is a great need for affordable housing and support for veterans in all stages of life in our area. When they return to civilian life, many veterans continue to face challenges.
