Shipping Manager

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Direct supervision of dock and office personnel
  • Ensure safe working conditions
  • Determining freight classifications
  • Providing Rate Quotes for pre-paid shipments
  • Continuous improvement initiatives of all shipping systems
  • Work closely w/ other depts in order to process/ship orders on time
  • Coaching and review of dept personnel
  • Proactively monitoring all custom jobs and evaluating shipping arrangements
  • Identify/implement lean metrics to improve overall efficiencies
  • Invoice Auditing
  • Processing shipping documents including UPS/Fed Ex labels, bills of lading, packlists, etc.
  • Utilizing customer web tools to submit p/up requests
  • Incorporate weekly Tool Time Talks w/ department staff

Candidates should have the following characteristics:

  • 3-5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good Computer Skills
  • Good Problem-Solving Skills
  • Good math skills
  • Experience w/carrier websites
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices
  • UPS Worldship and Fed Ex Manager software

Candidates with the following characteristics are a plus:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • College degree
  • Visual Mfg Software
  • Forklift and handjack experience

Quality Assurance Technician

Assist the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure the production and delivery of defect free products


  • Ensures compliance with quality specifications and standards
  • Performs incoming inspection and testing procedures
  • Teach and train operators when required
  • Performs random in-process quality checks


  1. Applies and monitors established inspection procedures and methods.
  2. Compiles, tabulates and summarizes inspection data for analysis.
  3. Offers constructive criticism from prescribed standards of quality.
  4. Alerts the Quality Manager and Production Managers when processes are out of control.
  5. Responsible for approving/holding incoming materials.
  6. Teaches and trains employees to successfully produce quality parts when required.
  7. Quarantines and labels questionable parts and helps determine fitness for use.
  8. Maintains quality area, drawings, and files in an orderly manner.
  9. Creates electronic incoming inspection reports.
  10. Must be able to work overtime and on Saturdays on short notice.
  11. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
  12. Other duties as assigned.


  • Some formal quality experience, training or education. Experienced in reading engineering drawings and blueprints. Strong knowledge of basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, decimals, fractions, and angles). Good communicator and team member. Computer skills to include data systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to operate measuring and testing equipment (Micrometers, calipers, tape measure, push/pull force gauges, Rockwell tester). Willingness to take classes to enhance skills is required. English/Spanish is a plus.
