POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for electrical and mechanical repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance to all production and facility equipment in addition to installation of said equipment in the plant, warehouse, and office areas by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. 

  1. Performs electro-mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance and maintenance of all equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  2. Performs electro-mechanical maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, water, electric power, gas and air required for smooth, uninterrupted operations.
  3. Maintains the company security, fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
  4. Assists plant engineer/maintenance manager, supervisors and maintenance staff with the operation of the preventative maintenance program which includes the vibration analysis and electric motor testing program.
  5. Inspects and insures that all operating machines and equipment conform to electrical and mechanical operational quality standards.
  6. Assists with the implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of equipment, labor and materials.
  7. Requisitions tools, electrical test equipment and maintenance supplies required for plant operation.
  8. Keeps an up-to-date inventory and file of all machine parts and maintenance supplies.
  9. Confers with plant engineer/maintenance manager, production manager, supervisors and other appropriate personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines, equipment and processes.
  10. Keeps maintenance area neat, clean and orderly; cleans up after completing maintenance work throughout the plant.
  11. Monitors building and exterior grounds to keep all areas clean and neat.
  12. Records and files complete machine histories relating to maintenance problems and cures, trouble shooting methods, services required, spare parts and parts vendors.
  13. Regular and reliable attendance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Knows, understands and follows all plant safety rules, general rules and procedures.
  2. Remains current on changes in policies, procedures and product information, attending authorized training programs and seminars.
  3. Be available for on-call and overtime work.

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform preventative maintenance procedures and related maintenance duties on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure. Included are Corrugating machines and Corrugate Converting machines, process support equipment, interior and exterior of buildings and grounds. Conduct preventative maintenance procedures on both electrical and mechanical systems. Poses the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical failures. Maintain overall condition of company assets following the standards set forth and regulated by the company policy

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  1. Participates in continuous improvement and effectively communicates opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position.
  2. General Industrial maintenance to include, but not limited to lubricating, repairing, rebuilding, trouble shooting, and cleaning production machines. Other duties to consist of infrastructure maintenance and fabrication. This includes welding, cutting, grinding, carpenter work, and operating shop machines (lathes, mill, drill press, grinder, saw, and other small hand tools).
  3. Perform maintenance and repair to the lift trucks; roll grabs and dollies, steam generators, air compressors, and other process support equipment.
  4. Perform electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, HVAC, and concrete work.
  5. Accurately carry out and assist in the development of preventative maintenance procedures.
  6. Create and complete work orders using the CMMS.
  7. Communicate with machine operators.
  8. Utilize the CMMS and other resources to provide maintenance planning.
  9. Support and develop downtime reduction initiatives.
  10. Work overtime as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

The Maintenance Mechanic must hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. It is a requirement to possess, or obtain, an Associate’s Degree, Millwright or Journeyman card in a related field to remain in the department. Once hired, the Maintenance employee will have six years to obtain an Associate’s Degree, Millwright or Journeyman card if they do not possess one before being hired. Mechanic must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical and electrical drawings, maintenance procedures and manuals, company policies and safety rules. Mechanic must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills using various units of measure is required; this includes whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute rate, velocity, ratio, and percent, perform conversions, interpret and/or develop graphs and technical reports is also required. The mechanic must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possession of the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in various situations and take appropriate action to resolve these problems is a must.

Candidates need to have an Electro-Mechanical background either through education or experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, display a positive attitude and have a strong work ethic.  The wages range is from $25.76-$28.29 commensurate with experience.

Persons hired are required to work a M-F rotating shift assignment of:
3rd shift – 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
2nd shift – 2:00PM to 10:00 PM
1st shift – 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Overtime is also required which can include 12 hour shifts and weekends.
