Assembly Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler responsible for efficiently and accurately pulling material for production orders, performing material stocking and material handling operations throughout the Plant Operations facility and the Warehouse/Distribution facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Separate and route products to assembly or to inventory.
  • Put away inventory in the appropriate locations and record the transactions in the computer system.
  • Verify shipping plan with Delivery Receipt before releasing shipment.
  • Make sure Special Instructions are followed.
  • Perform established quality inspections i.e. units that are not properly packaged for shipment need to be processed through our “Shipment Integrity” station.
  • Perform the required daily machine and work area maintenance as directed, ensure that aisles are swept, and trash is discarded when discovered. Keep exits and aisles clear and accessible at all times.
  • Participate in periodic staff meetings as required of the position. Participate in periodic development and training programs as required.
  • Operate forklift to transport materials.
  • Keep Safety in mind at all times and report any potential hazards to your supervisor or Safety committee member immediately.
  • Approachable and supportive when working with others.
  • Daily forklift pre-shift inspection.
  • Unload Incoming purchased product.
  • Receiving and inspection of incoming product using Imaginera software.
  • Disposition of received product using Top Gun to locate properly.
  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous job-related tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time by a Management Representative.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2-3 years’ experience and/or training in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Current forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Knowledge of material handling operations, methods and best practices.
  • Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure, manuals and order specifications.
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.
  • Mechanical and spatial aptitude. Attention to detail, accuracy and quality.  Enthusiasm, dedication, reliability and punctuality required.
  • Self-directed, takes initiative in seeking efficiencies of processes; follow through on implementation.
  • Ability to move from task/assignment to another on short notice.
  • Personal computer skills using a variety of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard/typing skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Able to regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, turn/twist at the waist, reach, climb and crawl.
  • Manual dexterity is required in the use and operation of hand and power tools and related plant machinery and equipment.
  • Able to lift/carry weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb and perform work related tasks from ladders.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for mechanical repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance to all production and facility equipment in addition to installation of said equipment in the plant, warehouse, and office areas by performing the following duties.  Basic electrical and welding experience is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • Performs predictive and preventative repairs of all equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Adheres and actively participates in lock out/tag out practices and procedures. Keeps all documentation up to date of lock out/tag out and works with Safety Director to maintain safe practices.
  • Assists Operations Manager, supervisors and maintenance staff with the operation of the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
  • Inspects and insures that all operating machines and equipment conform to electrical and mechanical operational quality standards.
  • Assists with the implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of equipment, labor and materials.
  • Confers with plant manager, production manager, supervisors and other appropriate personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines, equipment and processes.
  • All other reasonable duties as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have punctual and regular attendance.
  • Assist in all phases of machine and department operation as needed for breaks, changes, or special projects.
  • Keep up to date with any ongoing machine improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.

Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing semi-routine maintenance tasks for the Plant Operations facility and for Administrative Offices facility. Some on-call support may be needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns related to plant operations machinery, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical outages related to plant operations equipment and corporate office electrical needs.
  • Perform basic plumbing repair as required including plugged sewer lines and minor sewer repair.
  • Perform welding repair as required on plant operations machinery and related equipment.
  • Assist in general repair, alteration, small-scale new construction and preventative maintenance work.
  • Shovel snow and operates snow blower equipment as required.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Follow safe operating procedures and all safety rules in accordance with Company policy and in accordance with OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and orderly; cleans up after completing maintenance work throughout the plant.
  • Monitor unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with Supervisors or other Maintenance Workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment.
  • Inspect and measure machine parts to detect wear, misalignment, dimensional requirements or other problems.
  • Remove, repair and replace worn or defective parts, mechanisms and systems.
  • Realign and adjust functional parts, components, devices and control adjustments.
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all machines by cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as wiring, and electrical components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repair and maintain the facilities (inside and outside of building).
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other fixtures or structures.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts, equipment and machines.
  • Participate and is certified as a member of the First Responders Committee and the HAZMAT team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Certificate in maintenance related technical field and/or 2-4 years of related work experience and/or the equivalent combination of both.
  • Ability to use a personal computer.
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Management Software/Systems.
  • Above average aptitude applicable to the methods, practices, tools and materials used in building, mechanical, maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Crew Leader/Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform preventative maintenance procedures and related maintenance duties on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure. Included are Corrugating machines and Corrugate Converting machines, process support equipment, interior and exterior of buildings and grounds. Conduct preventative maintenance procedures on both electrical and mechanical systems. Poses the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical failures. Maintain overall condition of company assets following the standards set forth and regulated by the company policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in continuous improvement and effectively communicates opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position.
  • General Industrial maintenance to include, but not limited to lubricating, repairing, rebuilding, trouble shooting, and cleaning production machines. Other duties to consist of infrastructure maintenance and fabrication. This includes welding, cutting, grinding, carpenter work, and operating shop machines (lathes, mill, drill press, grinder, saw, and other small hand tools).
  • Perform maintenance and repair to the lift trucks; roll grabs and dollies, steam generators, air compressors, and other process support equipment.
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, HVAC, and concrete work.
  • Accurately carry out and assist in the development of preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Create and complete work orders using the CMMS.
  • Communicate with machine operators.
  • Utilize the CMMS and other resources to provide maintenance planning.
  • Support and develop downtime reduction initiatives.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • The Maintenance Mechanic must hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. It is a requirement to possess, or obtain, an Associate’s Degree, Millwright or Journeyman card in a related field to remain in the department.
  • Once hired, the Maintenance employee will have six years to obtain an Associate’s Degree, Millwright or Journeyman card if they do not possess one before being hired.
  • Mechanic must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical and electrical drawings, maintenance procedures and manuals, company policies and safety rules.
  • Mechanic must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • The ability to compute rate, velocity, ratio, and percent, perform conversions, interpret and/or develop graphs and technical reports is also required.
  • The mechanic must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Possession of the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in various situations and take appropriate action to resolve these problems is a must.

HOURS

Persons hired are required to work a M-F rotating shift assignment of:
3rd shift – 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
2nd shift – 2:00PM to 10:00 PM
1st shift – 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Overtime is also required which can include 12 hour shifts and weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY

  6. Assists with the implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of equipment, labor and materials.
  7. Keeps maintenance area neat, clean and orderly; cleans up after completing maintenance work throughout the plant.
  8. Monitors building and exterior grounds to keep all areas clean and neat.
  9. Regular and reliable attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Individual must possess: high school diploma or equivalency plus two years of other schooling in a maintenance-related field such as Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Electronics, or Apprenticeship training, or 5 years of experience in an electromechanical position; excellent safety record; ability to operate computer and a wide range of hand tools, test instruments, machining equipment and maintenance equipment; ability to perform mathematical calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals and percentages; ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions or blueprints, and reading of schematic diagrams; excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; legible handwriting to record information and fill out forms; ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate; ability to: plan, prioritize and organize work effectively; work effectively under pressure and time deadlines; analyze problems (not just symptoms), propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow up with feedback where appropriate.

 

HOURS

Persons hired are required to be available to work M-F, and be available for any shift: 1st shift – 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2nd shift – 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, 3rd shift –10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Overtime is also required which can include 12 hour shifts, some Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.
