Our assistant positions start at $18 hour and go up based on assistant/operator position assignment and machine complexity. Minimum pay ranges from $18 to $23/hr based on role assignment and work experience. We also offer shift differential of $1.50 for work performed on 2nd or 3rd shift.
At Great Northern we understand working 12 hour shifts can be hard on you, so we offer shorter shifts with paid breaks. Do you like starting the weekend early on a Friday? We adjust our Friday schedule during non-peak season to allow our employees to leave at an earlier time.

At the beginning of each year, you will receive a calendar which will identify which Saturday you could potentially have to work overtime. This schedule gives you the opportunity to switch shifts if you’re not available on an assigned Saturday or pick up shifts from other employees if desired. We don’t like surprises when it comes to overtime.
We give all new employees three (3) weeks of personal time after 30 days of employment. This is in addition to our 10 holidays a year. We also take holidays very seriously here and have not worked on a holiday in the past 5 years!
