The holidays can be a stressful time, especially for those with limited resources. With this in mind, the Laminations team located in Appleton recently adopted two local families for Christmas. In addition to shopping for gifts, employees held a bake sale to raise funds, and plant employees donated personal gas gift cards. In total, each family received about $800 worth of gifts.

Great Northern Cares: Helping the Angel Foundation
It’s that time of year–Giving to Others and Ugly Christmas Sweaters
The Twin Cities team combined both traditions this year! They donated $470 in gift cards plus multiple bags of supplies to the Angel Foundation, which provides financial and emotional support to families impacted by cancer, and had extra fun wrapping while donning their Ugly Christmas sweaters.
Great Northern Cares About Fitness
This year’s Hot Chocolate Race in Chicago had the best turnout ever from our Des Plaines Great Northern Instore team, with 32 team members running the 5K and 2 team members running the 15K. The team had a great day, with perfect weather and a fun brunch afterwards.
Great Northern Working with Area High Schools to Implement Dynamic Career Centers
Great Northern’s Aaron Sass was at the opening of the first ‘Launch Studio’ at Appleton East High School, a center that will help students discover their true passion for their future academic and career plans.
Great Northern Helps Coffee House Serve the Community
Barnabus Coffee House in Chippewa Falls is a non-profit community service organization and outreach ministry. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, they serve a free community meal. Recently, Great Northern employees Jennifer Hawke, Sara Grana, and Tami Ressler decided to join them in giving back to our community.
Just in Time for School: Great Northern Donates Care Packages to Elementary Schools
Employees from our Chippewa Falls location volunteered their time this summer to help teachers and students get ready for school this fall. Members of the Great Northern Cares team donated packages full of supplies, including tissues, paper towels, permanent markers, tape, zip-lock bags and antibacterial wipes to six local elementary schools. Our 3M team was happy to donate sticky notes as well.
Great Northern Cares for the Chippewa Humane Association
Our Great Northern Cares program is a way for Great Northern employees to give back to our communities through service and donation. The Chippewa Falls team recently used this program to benefit the Chippewa Humane Association by collecting over 100 items, along with a cash donation. Well done, team!

Great Northern Helps Pack Over 7,000 Meals at Feed My Starving Children Food Event
A shout-out to our Des Plaines plant team members who packed 30 boxes of food for the poor in Mexico at the ‘FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN FOOD EVENT.’ This is the 4thyear our team has participated, and this year we packed a record 7000 meals, enough to feed 20 people for a whole year!
Grand Opening of the GNC Wellness Center
